The Canberra Cavalry win the 2024-2025 ABL Championship with a series sweep of the Perth Heat. It was the Cavalry’s 1st title since 2013.

Colton Davis was lights out for Canberra on the mound Saturday pitching a near complete game shutout. Davis went 8.2 innings giving up just 5 hits and 4 walks on 109 pitches. Jon Kennedy came in and got the final out for the victory. Davis was named Finals MVP.

Armond Upshaw led the offense for the Cavalry going 3-for-6 with a run scored. George Callil and Miles Simington both chipped in with 2 hits each. Simington drove in 3 of the Cavalry’s 5 runs. Two of those RBI came in the 2nd when he homered off of Perth starter Jone-Hae Won, who took the loss.

This is the 4th straight loss in the finals for Perth, who last won a title back in 2014-2015. The Canberra Cavalry win for just the 2nd time in team history.
