Various news outlets are reporting that Cleveland’s Progressive Field will host the 2019 Major League Baseball All-Star Game. It is being reported that the Indians will announce this on Friday.
Cleveland last hosted the Mid-Summer Classic back in 1997 just three years after it opened.
This will make the first American League park to host the game since Minneapolis did so in 2014 ending four straight years in the National League.
This summer Marlins Park will be the host when the two leagues face off on July 11th. Next year it moves to our nation’s capital at Nationals Park before returning to Cleveland in 2019.
This will be Cleveland’s 6th time to host the all-star game which trails only Chicago (7) and New York City (9). The game this summer will be the first one in Miami
