Spain: Week 2 Scores and Highlights from Spanish Division de Honor

We are two weeks into the early part of the season in the Spanish Division de Honor, and we have a couple teams already showing a strong push for the front of the pack.

A week after splitting with defending champion Tenerife, Sant Boi ran off two more wins to stay in the hunt for first place. They sit just a game behind two teams who are off to a perfect 4-0 record.

Those two teams are the Astros Valencia and Baseball Navarra. Valencia took care of Barcelona in their weekend set, while Navarra took down CD Pamplona.

News and Notes from Week 2:

Yosue Castellano threw a complete game victory for Navarra in Game 1 of the weekend giving up just three runs (two earned) while striking out twelve. He improves to 2-0 on the season.

Andres Casado tossed a complete game (7 innings) win for Navarra in Game 2 giving up just one unearned run. He also improves to 2-0.

Hector Perozo (2-for-3/3 RBI) and Luis Compres (1-for-3) both homered for Navarra in the big Game 2 win.

Zael Honora tossed seven shutout for Sant Boi in Game 1 striking out 10 to pick up his second win on the season.

Jesus Golindano (1-for-4/2 RBI) homered in the 10-0 win for Sant Boi.

Danial Matias tossed a complete game win for Sant Boi in Game 2. He gave up just one run on two hits.

Javier Flores (2-for-3/2 RBI) homered for San Inazio Bilbao in the Game 2 loss.

Trevor Caughey (5 innings) and Mathew Erickson (2 innings) combined to shut out Barcelona in Game 1 both allowing just a single hit. Erickson also went 1-for-2 with a home run at the plate.

Eric Segura had the biggest game of the weekend in Game 2 of the series. He went 3-for-4 with 3 solo home runs to almost pick up the win for Barcelona.
