Austria: ABL Kicks Off Season with Series Between Athletics and Wanderers

The Austrian Baseball League kicked off its season this past weekend with a two game set between the Vienna Wanderers and the Attnang-Puchheim Athletics. The two teams split a pair of games in Vienna on Saturday.

In Game 1, Vienna got a strong outing from starter Christian Tomsich. The Athletics came back strong in Game 2 to pick up a split getting a great outing from starter James Jense who tossed a complete game one-hitter. He struck out five in the win. He also tripled and scored the only run of the game. David Burns (1-for-3) drove in the only run of the game with a sacrifice fly to center scoring Jense.
