Germany: Bonn Capitals and Solingen Alligators Lead North Division

The Solingen Alligators continued their hot hand this past weekend as the pitching staff tossed a pair of shutouts to help keep pace with the Bonn Capitals in first place. All but one series was a sweep this weekend as we saw a few great pitching performances and a couple great hitting days as well.

In Game 1, Andre Hughes tossed a complete game six-hit shutout for Solingen giving them a 3-0 record on the season. It took Hughes 111 pitches (74 were strikes) to dispose of the Stealers hitters for his second win of the season.

Hughes was aided offensively by Tanner Leighton who went 3-for-4 on the day driving in a pair of runs for the Alligators. Robin Drache doubled and drove in a run going 2-for-5 in the first game of the twin bill.

Iwan Galkin pitched well for HSV going four shutout innings. Brent Buffa came on in relief of Galkin and gave up eight runs over four innings taking the loss.

It was more of the same in Game 2 as Nick Renault struck out 12 and gave up just five hits shutting out the Stealers for a second straight time.

Dominik Wulf (2-for-5) doubled and drove in a run. Florian Gotze (2-for-2) tripled and drove in a run to help the Alligators stay perfect on the year.

In other North Division action:

Bradley Roper-Hubbert homered and went a combined 4-for-8 for the Bonn Capitals. He also drove in four runs in Game 2.

Andrew Jones went 3-for-4, scored three runs, and hit a solo home run for the Berlin Sluggers in Game 1 of their weekend series. His teammate Jeffrey Wolburg drove in five runs going 2-for-5 with a home run in the same game.

Dominic Milo doubled and went 3-for-5 driving in a run for the Dohren Wild Farmers in a win against Berlin. His teammate Joey Zrinzo pitched a complete game shutout while striking out 14 in Game 2 of the series with Berlin.
