March 15, 1978

The Oakland A’s trade 1971 Cy Young Award winner Vida Blue to the San Francisco Giants. In return the A’s receive seven players in return along with $300,000.

Blue would go on to win 54 games for the Giants over the next four seasons including 18 in 1978. The A’s got nobody back in return that turned out to be a long term contributor to the club.
