The Braves offered the city $500,000 to let them out of their lease a year early. They want to move the team to Atlanta. The city refuses the offer wanting MLB to promise a new team for Milwaukee in the next expansion.
The city doesn’t get the money, which was equal to about 2 1/2 years of rent, and the team moves after the season.
