SEOUL, South Korea – The 2012 IBAF 18U World Baseball Championships concluded this weekend in Seoul. It was a well run tournament with some great competition.
In the final day of play, the USA defeated Canada for the gold medal. Earlier in the day, Chinese Taipei downed Colombia 4-1 to win the bronze medal, and South Korea defeated rival Japan to finish 5th place.
Shortstop Christian Arroyo (USA) finished as the tournament MVP. He finished the tournament with 10 RBI to lead the tournament and was named to the All-Star Tournament Team. He finished the tournament hitting .444.
The top hitter for the tournament is Young Jin Young (KOR) who finished with a .478 average.
Garrett Williams (USA) finished with the best ERA for a pitcher at 0.00 in 11.2 innings of work.
Ryan Boldt (USA) led the tournament in stolen bases with an astonishing 12.
