#BaseballJourney at the IBAF 18U Baseball World Championships

#BaseballJourney at the IBAF 18U Baseball World Championships

I have been fortunate to see some of the greatest baseball players to ever play in the USA, but I don’t want to stop there. I have lived in South Korea for most of the past 3 years during which I have seen a lot of baseball. I have gotten the chance to see every KBO team and stadium in use as well as a few that are only used by amateur and high school leagues.

Baseball is a religion of sorts here. The fans here are passionate, knowledgeable, and hungry for winners on every level. Luckily for me the IBAF 18U Baseball World Championships are currently being held in Seoul. So for the next two weekends I’ll be spending my time between two stadiums watching international baseball. This is my current #BaseballJourney.

This is my first foray into international baseball. I’m fortunate to be able to see the USA play. Not only that, but I am getting to see them play Korea as well which will make for an electric atmosphere.

However, on the grand scheme of things it is seeing other countries that you might not know have good teams. For instance, Italy and the Czech Republic are representing Europe. Colombia, Panama, and Venezuela are here as well representing South America. Then there are the powers that you expect to be here and do well like Japan, Korea, USA, and Canada.

It’s an exciting time watching international baseball for the first time. I’m excited and realize how lucky I am for the chance to do so.

I don’t know where my #BaseballJourney will take me in the future, but I’m excited about the prospects.
