Ajax to Host the 2015 Pan-American Games

The Pan-American Games is the largest multi-sport competition where baseball and softball are still played after the Olympic Committee decided to drop the program after the 2008 games in Beijing.

The 2015 Pan-Am games will be held in Toronto and it was recently announced that the town of Ajax will host the baseball and softball.

Currently there is no venue in Ajax to hold the competitions. However, the committee will work with government organizations to build fields. The fields will be used for recreational and amateur events after the close of the tournament.

The 17th Pan-Am Games will take place July 10-26, 2015. Forty-one nations will compete in 36 events.

Canada is the defending champion in baseball winning their first gold medal and second overall. Cuba leads all nations with 12 gold medals.
