The Buchbinder Legionaere rallied to take Game 1 of the German Finals over the Paderborn Untouchables. Buchbinder rallied 3 times during the game and finally put it away in the 10th inning with a run to take an early lead in the best-of-5 series.

Paderborn jumped out to a 2-0 lead after an inning. As soon as Regensburg could bounce back and tie the game in the top of the 3rd, Paderborn took the lead again in the bottom half of the inning. With a run in the 5th and again in the 6th Regensburg tied the game again at 4 only to see another deficit the next half inning.
Leading 7-4 heading into the 8th inning, the Legionaere once again tied the game scoring 3 runs. Matt Vance hit a 2-run home run in the 8th to pull within a run. Then two batters later, Ludwig Glaser tied the game with a RBI double. The game stayed tied into the 10th inning when Glaser would double again driving in the winning run.
Philipp Hoffschild picked up the win throwing 3 innings of scoreless relief. Daniel Hinz took the loss going 2.1 innings of relief giving up a single run.
