Heading into the last weekend of the semi-final round of the 2012 Italian Baseball League Playoffs, Danesi Nettuno sat atop the standings. With wins in two of its final three games against Telemarket Rimini, Nettuno would advance to the championship. However, that wasn’t meant to be as Rimini took 2-of-3 to tie in the standings with Nettuno. Rimini would advance based on the head to head record. They will face defending champion T&A San Marino who is back again finishing atop the standings in the sem-final round robin as they swept Unipol Bologna in their last weekend series.
Roberto Corradini came up huge in the deciding 2nd game of the series between Rimini and Nettuno. He pitched 8.1 scoreless innings allowing just 5 hits to pick up the win sending Rimini to the championship. Jack Santora drove in the only run of the game as Rimini won 1-0 to take the first 2 games of the series.
