The round robin semi-final round has started in the Dutch Baseball League. The top four teams play a 9 game round robin format with a 3-game series each weekend. The top two teams will advance to the Holland Series.
After Round 1, DOOR Neptunus is in the lead having swept its 3-game series with Corendon Kinheim. Not far behind is the defending champion L&D Amsterdam which took 2 out of 3 from the Vaessen Pioneers.

Game 1 of the series saw Rob Cordemans pitch solid for 7 innings allowing just 1 run on 6 hits while striking out 8 Pioneers to earn the win for Amsterdam. Vaessen limited Amsterdam to only 3 hits, but the Pirates got 2 runs without a hit in the 2nd inning on a walk, a hit-by-pitch, an error, and a couple of sacrifice flies.
Vaessen bounced back in Game 2 to shout out Amsterdam. Joey Evans pitched 8 innings of shutout ball to pick up the win. Mark Duursma had a big day at the plate going 4-for-4 with a double and a RBI. Zerzinho Croes, Michael Duursma, and Mark-Jan Moorman all pitched in with 2 hits each.
Game 3 saw another fine pitching performance. This time it was Amsterdam’s Ben Grover who went 7 innings allowing 1 run on 3 hits to pick up the victory. Bas de Jong had a nice day at the dish going 3-for-4 with a run scored. Wesley Connor drove in a run with a double.

DOOR Neptunus got a great outing from starter Diegomar Markwell in Game 1 as he went 8 innings allowing 1 run. Berry van Driel pitched the 9th to earn the save. Raily Legito led the offense going 4-for-4 with 2 doubles, a home run, and 2 RBI. Benjamin Dill added 3 hits, and Adrian Anthony went 2-for-3 with a double and 2 runs scored.
Game 2 was more of the same as Kevin Heijstek went 8 innings for the Neptunus to pick up the win allowing just 1 run on 3 hits. Raily Legito once again went deep, and Shaldimar Daantji added a double and 2 RBI.
DOOR Neptunus roughed up Corendon starter Nick Veltkamp who gave up 7 runs (5 ER) in 4.1 innings of work to take the loss. Tim Roodenburg went 6 innings allowing 2 runs to pick up the win. Raily Legito stayed hot going 3-for-4. Benjamin Dill went 2-for-4 driving in 3 runs.
