Chinese Taipei 1, Japan 4

Japan jumped out early scoring a run in the first two innings to take a 2-0 lead. They would add another in the 4th before Chinese Taipei finally got on the board in the 5th, but it was too late.

Johnny All Staff pitched for Japan as they marched out 5 pitchers on the day. Keita Honzaki picked up the win in relief tossing two scoreless innings. Motoki Higa picked up the save with a scoreless 9th. The Japanese first baseman Mekaru went 2-for-4 with a home run. Second basemen Eto stole 2 bases to go along with his 2 hits.

Puerto Rico 3, Cuba 2

Puerto Rico defeated Cuba in Game 2 of the tournament as Benigno Cepeda pitched strong in relief going 4.2 innings allowing only 2 hits. Rabell Rivera pitched a scoreless 9th to pick up the save.

Puerto Rico got the game started off with a bang as lead off hitter and center fielder Mendez led the game off with a solo home run. Puerto Rico would never trail in the game.

Puerto Rico picked up a second run in the 4th on a RBI single before Cuba would come back in the bottom half of the inning to tie it at 2.
