CZECH REPUBLIC – Reigning Czech League champion Technika Brno has named former AVG Draci Brno standout Wayne Ough as its new head coach. Technika stunned Draci in last year’s title series to snap the Dragons’ streak of 16 consecutive championships.
The 33 year-old started his professional career as a prospect in the New York Mets farm system. He suited up for Draci during the 2009 and 2010 seasons, batting .382 with 14 doubles, 12 stolen bases, four triples, two homers and 31 RBIs. On the hill, Ough fanned 45 in 25 frames with five saves and a 0.36 ERA.
The Aussie right-hander played the second half of last season with the RiCo Highlanders (Austria), and posted a 2-2 mark with a 4.66 ERA in the Australian Baseball League this past winter with the Adelaide Bite.
