HONG KONG – The Far East Bloomers from Japan took home the title from the 2011 Phoenix Cup after defeating the Hong Kong Allies 12-1 in the final. The Bloomers went undefeated in the tournament after finishing 2nd at the Women’s World Cup last year.
The Bloomers dominated the tournament allowing only 2 runs in the 4 games they played while scoring 57 runs of their own.
The International Earth Stars finished in 3rd after losing to the Allies in the semi-finals 12-4.
Taipei Vanguard defeated NineVics from Korea for 4th place.
The Far East Bloomers dominated the individual awards as well. Manager Manabu Suzuki was named the top manager. The bloomers ace pitcher Kazuho Nimi was named the top pitcher, while Yea Lim Son from NineVics got the most hits in the tournament.
