Venezuela Name Haarlem Tourney Team

VENEZUELA – A youthful Venezuelan national team will be competing at the 2010 Haarlem Baseball Week international tournament in the Netherlands. Venezuela will open the competition on July 9 against Japan.

Former Major leaguer Luis Soto will be calling the shots for Venezuela, which will bring back just one player (José Escalona) who wore the national colors at last year’s IBAF Baseball World Cup. Escalona is currently one of the top relievers in the Italian Baseball League (IBL) with T&A San Marino, sporting a 2-0 record and six saves with an 1.84 ERA in 12 games.

Alexander Arteaga, José Bergola, Alexis Bethermy, José Blanco, José Bruzual, José Camacaro, Marcos Carvajal, Fernando Castro, Alfredo Chávez, José Díaz, José Escalona, Antonio Jiménez, Oswaldo Landaeta, José Lara, Juan Lucena, Manuel Martínez, Ramón Martínez, Manuel Mendez, Enrique Mori, Carlos Ovalles, Alexander Ozarta, Tua Pachano, Orlando Pérez, Victor Pinto, Gustavo Rivas, Alberto Rodríguez, Wladimir Siviria, Augusto Vázquez and María Yépez.
