Philadelphia Phillies Ink Czech Prospect

CZECH REPUBLIC – The Philadelphia Phillies have signed 16-year-old Czech pitcher Marek Minarik to a minor league contract. The right-hander chose to begin his professional career with the reigning National League champion after receiving offers from four Major League clubs.

The Lokomotiva Louny product also participated at this year’s MLB European Academy Tryout in Prague.
