ITALY – The Italian Baseball League club Danesi Nettuno has signed a pair of players from Serie A2 club Anzio, Enzo Sanna and Vinicio Sparanga, for the 2010 season.
Sanna (pictured) enjoyed an MVP-type season in the second division last season. The 27-year-old scored a whopping 42 runs and tallied 13 extra-base hits while topping the league in batting (.461) and RBIs (39)
Sparanga, who leaned towards joining Montepaschi Grosseto earlier this winter, showed good power in 2009 with three long balls and 17 extra-base hits. He finished the season batting .365 and drove in 37 runs.
CATANIA INKS OUTFIELD PROSPECT
The Catania Warriors have signed second-division outfielder Daniel Santolupo. The former youth national team player is expected to battle for one of the starting outfield positions.
The 25-year-old scored 37 runs for Serie A2 club Anzio last season while batting .298 with 27 RBIs.
