Austrian League To Open April 17

AUSTRIA – The reigning Austrian Baseball League champion Vienna Wanderers will host the Schwaz Tigers in a rematch of last year’s title series when the 2010 ABL season gets underway on April 17. The Wanderers swept the best-of-five championship series to win the national title.

The remaining ABL teams will open the new season a week later on April 24. 2008 champion MOSQUITO Athletics will host the Vienna Metrostars, who claimed three consecutive ABL championships from 2005-07.

Other week two matchups includes the Tigers visiting the Stock City Cubs and the Schwechat Blue Bats hosting the Union Kufstein Vikings.

The Vienna-based Wanderers will take to the road on April 25 to test the Rohrbach Crazy Geese.

Saturday, April 17th:
Schwaz Tigers at SUPERFUND Wanderers

Saturday, April 24th:
Schwaz Tigers at Stock City Cubs
Union Kufstein Vikings at Schwechat Blue Bats
Vienna Metrostars at MOSQUITO Athletics

Sunday, April 25th:
SUPERFUND Wanderers at Rohrbach Crazy Geese
