Minnesota To Host International Baseball Tournament

UNITED STATES – The Thunder Bay International Baseball Association (TBIBA), St. Cloud River Bats, St. Paul Saints, and Minnetonka Diamond Club/Minnetonka Millers in conjunction with the USA Baseball and Baseball Canada are proud to announce the Pre-Worlds International Baseball Series.

The series will take place from July 12th to July 20th, 2010, and act as a warm-up for those teams participating in the 2010 IBAF World Junior Baseball Championship in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada.

The series will be discussed at a meeting this week involving the partners at the Canadian Consulate in Minneapolis. The organizing committee of the 2010 IBAF World Junior Baseball Championship will also be present at Twinsfest over the weekend at the MetroDome.

Thirteen games will be played in total and the series will feature the 18U National Teams from the United States, Canada, and Chinese Taipei (Taiwan) who will later be participating in the 2010 World Junior Baseball Championship from July 23 to August 1 in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada.

The Minnetonka Millers, Minneapolis All Stars, Chaska Cubs and St. Cloud & Area Selects will add the local competition to the July 12th – 20th event.
