TAIWAN – The New York Yankees have signed Taiwanese infielder Fu-Lin Kuo to a minor league contract with a ~$150,000 signing bonus, according to the Taiwan Baseball website.

The 18-year-old is a former junior and youth national team member who has been followed closely since participating in the Asia Cup held in Jakarta (Indonesia) in 2007.

Kuo, who initially adjusted slowly to the wood bat but has made significant strides over the past year, has decent all-around tools and probably was the best player on the 2008 IBAF Taiwanese junior national team.
