USA – The Pittsburgh Pirates continued their foray into Asia with the signing of Taiwan prep pitcher Sheng-Chin Hung. The Shi-Yuan High School product is the third Taiwanese prospect inked by the Pirates in the past seven days.

Hung, a high school teammate of recent Pirates signee, Ping-Hung Chi, touches 91 mph on the radar gun with his fastball. The 5′11″ right-hander also possess a decent change-up and curveball.

The 18-year-old was on the Palomino squad that placed second last year, and is regarded as the highest priority signing of the recent Taiwanese signees.
