INDONESIA – CNMI outlasted a parity-laden field of Junior League teams at the Asia-Pacific Regional Tournament in Jakarta, Indonesia to advance to the 2009 Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania later this year.
The tournament champion opened the competition with a 19-8 win over Hong Kong before disposing of Indonesia, 7-4. Guam blanked CNMI 6-0 to forge a four-way tie for the top spot, and squeaked past winless Indonesia, 4-2, to reach the finals.

CNMI finished on top of the Philippines in a wild 21-18 slugfest to advance to the title game, and then edged Guam 10-9 to win the tounament crown.
