TAIWAN – The reigning Yu-Shan Cup champion Tainan City placed seven members on the 2009 Taiwan Junior National Team that was announced recently. Both Kaohsiung City and Taoyuan County, which finished second and third, respectively, at the high school tournament had three players named to the AAA national squad.
Tainan City third baseman Fu-Lin Kuo, who was the top hitter at the Yu-Shan Cup with a .485 batting average and a tournament-high 19 RBIs, headlines the All-Star team with teammate Keng-Hao Chang. Chang (2-0, 0.00) was the top pitcher and MVP of the recently concluded prep tourney.
