SOUTH KOREA – The Kia Tigers used strong pitching and a potent offense to win both ends of a three-game set against the LG Twins last weekend to clinch the series win.

KIA pounded LG 14-0 on Friday behind a monster game by catcher Kim Sang-hoon, who cracked a pair of long balls and tallied six RBIs in the blowout victory. Rookie infielder Ahn Chi-hong and outfielder Na Ji-wan also belte homers for the Tigers.

Aquilino Lopez allowed five hits and walked two in seven shutout innings to pick up the easy win in a 101-pitch outing.

The Twins chased KIA ace Yoon Seok-min in the fifth en route to a 7-2 win on Saturday. Park Kyeong-su drove in two runs and Kwon Yeong-kwan homered to help LG even the series.

However, KIA coasted to a 9-2 victory in the series finale behind a four-hit performance by Choi Hee-seop, and a nice outing from Yang Hyeon-jeong.

Choi tallied six RBIs with a pair of homers and scored three runs to lead a Tigers’ offense that outscored the Twins 25-9 in the series.

Yang allowed two runs in a 90-pitch appearance over five innings to register the win.

Song struck out eight while giving up a walk an three hits to secure the win in a 108-pitch outing.

Jeong, SK’s speedy leadoff man, reached base five times in a 4-for-4 effort that featured a pair of doubles and a stolen base. Park Jae-hong added a home run in the opening frame, and Victor Diaz went deep for the Eagles for the second consecutive game.
