USA – The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks signed former major league third baseman Yurendell DeCaster on Monday .
The 28-year-old batted .252 with 10 home runs and 47 RBIs in 89 games last season for the Washington Nationals Triple A affiliate, Columbus Clippers.
DeCaster, who played in three games for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2006, was an undrafted free agent signing of the Tampa Bay Rays in 1996. He has also competed for the Dutch National Team.
A native of Curaçao, an island in the Caribbean’s Netherlands Antilles, DeCaster joins another Curacaon, Randall Simon, who recetly signed with the RedHawks.
