USA – The Fort Worth Cats have agreed to terms on a contract with right fielder Charles Carter on a contract for the 2009 season.
Carter played in 95 games for the Cats in 2008, batting .284 with three homers 39 runs batted in and tied for third on the team with 14 stolen bases. It was his first year as the full-time right fielder. He was also a member of the Cats 2006 and 2007 championship teams.

He posted a career-high .307 batting average with six home runs and 47 runs batted in. He finished second on the team with 21 stolen bases in 21 attempts. He had 11 hits and four RBIs during the playoffs.
He was originally acquired by the Cats on Aug. 8, 2006 from Coastal Bend to complete the Bryon Smith trade from earlier that season. He played in 12 games with the Cats that year after appearing in just three games with Coastal Bend.
In the Cardinals’ system in 2005 with Johnson City in the Appalachian League, he hit .294 with five homers and 32 runs batted in in 59 games.
Carter played college baseball at Texas A&M – Corpus Christi after attending L.D. Bell High School in Hurst.
