USA – This season the Southern Illinois Miners will be giving back to area Little Leagues with the new Miners Little League Fundraiser. Participating leagues can sell tickets to one of three Miners Monday home games. Each league will keep half of the ticket money it sells.
Each of the three top selling leagues can choose from one of two prizes. The two available prizes are an entire day’s worth of games at Rent One Park on a day that the Miners are on the road or one afternoon game at Rent One Park before a Miners home game.
“This is a great chance for local Little Leagues,” Miners General Manager Tim Arseneau said. “That’s a big goal for us, to build a strong relationship with the youth leagues in the area. It will be a lot of fun of those kids to have the chance to play here.”
The available Miners games for which Little Leagues can sell tickets are June 22, July 20 and Aug. 3. All three games are scheduled for a 7:05 p.m. first pitch. Dates for Little League games at Rent One Park are subject to availability. For more information and to start your Miners Little League Fundraiser, contact Miners ticket representative Brock Babington at (618) 969-8506 or Bill Glenn at (618) 969-8524.
The Miners will begin the 2009 season in Evansville on Friday, May 22. The home opener is scheduled for Friday, May 29 at 7:05 p.m. For a complete schedule visit www.southernillinoisminers.com.
