USA – The Fort Worth Cats have inked left-handed pitchers Austin Bridges and Eric Domangue to contracts for 2009.
Bridges, 22, pitched at UT-Arlington in 2006, going 4-4 with a 4.96 ERA in 21 appearances including 10 starts. In 65 1/3 innings pitched, Bridges struck out 34 and walked 39.
A standout at Fossil Ridge High School, Bridges was a three-year letter winner and earned honorable mention all-district honors after compiling a 3.00 ERA in his junior season. He also set a state record by picking off six runners in one game while at Fossil Ridge.
Domangue, 24, was selected by the New York Mets in the 16th round of the 2005 draft. He appeared in 15 games with the Class-A Brooklyn Cyclones that year and had no record with a 6.97 ERA.
In 2006, Domangue started the season in Brooklyn before moving to Hagerstown in the South Atlantic League where he had no record in 13 appearances and a 1.43 ERA. He pitched for the Coastal Bend Aviators in the American Association in 2007 and had a 1-1 record in two games.
Domangue played college ball at Alvin Community College and was born in Tomball, Texas.
