JAPAN – Kevin Mench smashed a three-run shot and Yasutomo Kubo tossed three scoreless innings out of
the bullpen to help the Hanshin Tigers rally past the Nippon Ham Fighters in pre-season baseball action from the Japanese League.
Mench, a former major leaguer who signed a one-year deal with the Tigers over the winter, tagged Yachiho Hoshino with Hanshin trailing 2-0 in the eighth to pull out the comeback win.

Atsushi Fujii went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and four RBIs to help Chunichi nip Seibu at Kariya stadium.
Hiroshima Carp 9, Yomiuri Giants 6
Kenta Kurihara collected three RBIs including a two-run homer as Hiroshima rallied late to top the Giants at Shunan Municipal Stadium.
