SOUTH KOREA – The reigning Olympic champions from South Korea announced their 2009 World Baseball
Classic roster on Monday. Only seven members ? Son Min-han, Bong Jung-keun, Chong Tae-hyon, Oh Seung-hwan, Kim Tae-kyun, Lee Jin-young and Lee Bum-ho ? out of 28 players named to this year’s squad competed in the inaugural WBC in 2006. played at the first WBC in 2006.
South Korean manager Kim In-sik scratched injured veteran shortstop Park Jin-man at the last minute due to a chronic sore shoulder. Lotte Giants shortstop Park Ki-hyuk was named the starter in place of the Park, who has been a member of the national team for nearly a decade.
