SPAIN – Motovalle erupted for six runs in the fourth inning to knock Dr. Click from the unbeaten ranks with an 8-3 victory in youth baseball action from Spain last weekend.

Dr. Click took advantage of the quick feet of Aaron León to grab a quick 1-0 lead in the first. The speedster swiped two bases before scoring on an errant throw by the Motovalle catcher to put Dr. Click on top early. However, the underdogs answered back in the bottom of the inning in similar fashion.

Deion Galván reached first base on a single, and then stole second and third base to put himself in prime scoring position. Yanfran Martín followed with a run-scoring sacrifice fly to knot the game at 1-all.

Motovalle surged ahead an inning later when Galván stepped into the batter’s box with the bases full and plated Javier González for a 2-1 lead. The score remained the same until the fourth when the Dr. Click squad came charging back.

Ángel Piva started the rally with a bunt single towards third base and scored the tying run on Ruben Rijkhof’s triple to right field. Dr. Click regained the lead moments later when Alexander Brito singled up the middle to bring Rijkhof home with the go-ahead run. But Motovalle would not be denied on this day.

Seeking just their second win in four games, Motovalle crossed the plate six times in the bottom of the inning to erase a 3-2 deficit and end Dr. Click’s winning streak at three games.

Galván turned in another impressive performance going 4-for-4 at the plate with a pair of doubles.

Motovalle improved to 2-2 with the win while table-leading Dr. Click saw its record drop to 3-1.

Dr. Click 7, Canaritos 1

Dr. Click rebounded from their first setback with a 7-1 victory over Canaritos in the second matchup of the day.

Aaron Leon once again used his quick feet to put Dr. Click on top early, 1-0. The Computer Science squad stretched the lead with a score in the third on Ruben Rijkhof’s RBI single that brought home Ángel Piva with the second run of the game.

Canaritos got on the scoreboard in the fourth when César Álvarado ripped a triple down the left field line, and scored on a wild pitch to cut the lead in half, 2-1. But Dr. Click responded with five runs in the bottom of the inning to register their third win in four outings.

Leon picked up the win for Dr. Click while opening the game with three perfect innings. Piva was credited with his second save.

Offensively, Rijkhof went 3-for-4 including a triple for Dr. Click.
