CANADA – As far as pitching prospect Brad Davidson is concerned, there really is a Santa Claus. His name is Marc Wilkins.

When Davidson, a senior at Florida Southern University, returned home to the Chagrin Falls area over Christmas break, his baseball career was in limbo. The 23-year-old southpaw was heartbroken over not being selected in last June’s amateur draft, found no takers during pro tryouts last summer and couldn’t even fall back on the college game since he had exhausted his eligibility.

With nowhere else to turn, he turned to Wilkins, whose local baseball academy is in its second year of operation.
