SPAIN – Canaritos overcame an early three run deficit to edge Motovalle, 8-7, in Spanish youth baseball action from Spain.

Motovalle (1-1) opened the scoring in the opening frame when Jose Manuel Rodriguez hit a two-run triple to score Yanfran Martin and Deion Galván. Rodriguez scored the third run of the ining on a run-scoring hit by Gary Pena.

Canaritos chipped away at the lead with a run in both the second and third to cut the lead to one, 3-2. But Motovalle answered back with a pair of scores in the fourth to rebuild a three-run advantage.

In the end, however, Canaritos proved to be too strong and finished the game in high fashion plating six runs over the final three innings and holding off a late Motovalle rally to capture the hard-fought victory.

Caesar Alvarado led the Canaritos with a 2-for-3 effort that included a triple, RBI and two runs scored.

Giannini Binetti (1-1) notched the win after striking out 10 in four innings of work.

Motovalle catcher Jose Manuel Rodriguez turned in a sizzling performance at the plate going 3-for-4 with two triples and three RBIs.

Motovalle struck first for the second consecutive game when Gary Pena drove home Deion Galván in the third to break a scoreless deadlock. But Dr. Click scored two runs in the third, three more scores in the fourth, and an insurance run in the sixth to deal Motovalle their second setback of the day.

Iván González was the best batter for Dr. Click with two hits and a pair of RBIs while Yanfran Martin paced Motovalle’s offensive lineup with a 3-for-4 game that included two doubles.
