SOUTH KOREA – The star at the launch ceremony of the Korean national baseball team for the World Baseball Classic in Seoul on Jan. 8 was Kim Byung-hyun, who seemed to have gained some weight since his last public appearance.

Since he was waived by the Pittsburgh Pirates, Kim has been teamless for a year. This naturally raises questions and doubts over his physical condition.
