SOUTH KOREA – The Doosan Bears of the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) have signed former major league outfielder Matt Watson for the 2009 season.

A 1999 draft pick of the Montreal Expos, Watson compiled an OPS of .839 during a 10-year minor league career. However, he made two brief stints in the majors with the New York Mets (2003) and the Oakland Athletics (2005).

Watson will also be making his second foray into Asian baseball. He previously played for Bobby Valentine with the Chiba Lotte Marines in Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) in 2006 and 2007.
