PHILIPPINES – For the first time since its inception, the Philippine Series goes to Manila when the country’s
capital city hosts the world’s biggest grassroots, mass-based youth sports development program scheduled from April 12-20.
The Big City ’s sports fans will have a chance to see the finest baseball and softball-playing youths from all over the country in the 2009 edition of the meet among children aged 11-18.
Championships in four divisions in boys’ baseball and the same number in girls softball – Major League (11-12), Junior League (13-14), Senior League (14-16) and Big League (14-18) will be up for grabs with the winners representing the country in the Asia Pacific eliminations for the World series in each age bracket set July in the different key cities in the region.
