NETHERLANDS – Former Dutch National Team-Manager Jim Stoeckel has been named the new Pitching
Coach of the Dutch Squad in the staff of new Field Manager Rod Delmonico, the Royal Dutch Baseball and Softball Association announced on Monday, January 5.
In December, it already was announced that former Major League-pitcher Bert Blyleven will act as the team’s Pitching Coach during the World Baseball Classic coming March in Puerto Rico. Stoeckel succeeds Brian Farley, who was the Pitching Coach until last year, but now will focus more on the development of young pitchers with the National Junior Squad.
With the naming of Stoeckel, the coaching staff of the Dutch Team is now complete. Bill Froberg and Wim Martinus were named earlier, while Hensley Meulens will be added during the World Baseball Classic.
