USA – Mount Olive topped the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper NCAA Division II Pre-Season Poll with 640 votes followed by Tampa (618), Central Missouri (604), U.C. San Diego (590) and Columbus State (576).

Southern Arkansas received 540 votes and will begin the 2009 campaign ranked sixth while California State-Chico (536), Emporia State (534), Quachita Baptist (522) and S.C. Aiken (498).
