DOMINICAN REPUBLIC – American Major League Baseball (MLB), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Peace Corps have signed an historic alliance with six Dominican non-profit organizations to benefit the poorer communities in the Dominican Republic.

The alliance proposes to use baseball as a catalyst to improve the lives of the less fortunate in the Dominican Republic. Baseball is the passion of the Dominican Republic and is played everywhere, especially in the poorer areas as an outlet for youth frustrations.
