USA – The Coppell High School (Texas) Cowboys baseball team has six players that are headed to Division I schools in 2009.

Third baseman Austin Elkins will be attending Dallas Baptist University, shortstop/pitcher Chad Kettler is going to the Oklahoma Sooners, and center fielder Jacob Morris is bound for NCAA powerhouse Arizona State University.

The Texas Longhorns signed catcher Jonathan Walsh while right fielder David Walsh will be suiting up for UT-Arlington.   Pitcher Zak Hermans will be competing for Princeton but players at Ivy League schools do not sign athletic scholarships.

Prior to 2008, the most players that Coppell had sign with major college programs was two.
