SPAIN – The Tenerife Softball community recently staged their annual All-Star Game featuring the best
players from the 2008 season. The “A” All-Stars team edged the “B” All-Stars squad, 8-7.
Larry Castro, who won the popular pre-game Home Run Derby, led the “A” All-Stars with a 2-for-3 effort that included a run scored and an RBI. Juan Carlos Macías went 3-for-4 with a home run and a pair of doubles to pace the “B” All-Stars.
Ricardo Escalona picked up the win for the “A” All-Stars while reliever Alfredo Rodriguez finished the game to register the save. Macías was tagged with the setback for the “B” All-Stars.
The “A” All-Stars featured Paul Silva (TOROS), Jose A. Fernandez (CARIBEÑOS), Francisco Gonzalez (HALCONES), Augusto Morena (MAQUINEROS), Francisco Miranda (HALCONES), Jesus Arratia (MAGOS), Abdel Amat (TOROS), Jorge Florentino (CARIBEÑOS), Renny Chacon (TOROS), Angel Done (HALCONES), Juan Pablo Rodriguez (AGUILAS), Yonnis Castillo (TOROS), Kelvin Franco (CARIBEÑOS), Alfredo Martin (AGUILAS), Alfredo Rodriguez (HALCONES), Ricardo Escalona (MAQUINEROS), and Larry Castro (MAGOS).
