2008 Texas Class 5A All-State Baseball Team

USA – Pitchers Ben Flora of Plano West and Taylor Jungman of Georgetown shared player of the year honors on the Texas Sports Writers Association Class 5A all-state baseball team.

Flora, who led Plano West to the state championship, was 13-0 with a 0.91 earned run average. Jungman was 14-0 with an 0.89 ERA.

Here are the Texas Sports Writers Association’s 2008 Texas high school baseball all-state teams:

Player of the Year — (tie) Taylor Jungmann, Georgetown, pitcher, sr.; and Ben Flora, Plano West, pitcher, Sr.

Coach of the Year — Kendall Clark, Plano West

FIRST TEAM

Pitchers — Taylor Jungmann, Georgetown, sr.; Ben Flora, Plano West, sr.; Taylor Wall, Houston Westside, sr.

Catcher — Jeremy Schaffer, Houston Bellaire, sr.
