Jackson State Adds Six More Newcomers

USA - Jackson State head baseball coach Omar Johnson announced that he will be adding six new faces to the 2008 recruitment class, totaling 14 new players for the new season.

In addition to the first class for the Tigers which included: two pitchers, two infielders and three outfielders, this class will include: two pitchers, three infielders and one outfielder.

Josh Froneberger - Atlanta, GA (Alabama State University) P, 6-3, 190
In 2008, received All-SWAC first-team honors as a pitcher while recording a 6-4 record with 119 strikeouts and a 5.12 ERA.

Frank Solis - Miami, FL (Barbara Goleman High School) INF, 5-10, 180
As a senior, was named to the Florida all-state second-team and All-Dade first-team … posted a .424 hitting average and tallied 33 RBI.

Brandon Howard - Coal City, IL (Joliet Junior College) OF, 5-9, 185
Was named the Joliet Junior ABCD Junior College Player of the Year … had a batting average of .467 to take the NCJAA record … had five homers en route to recording 62 RBI.

Courtney Nelson- Montgomery, AL (Calhoun Community College) P, 5-9, 175
Ended season with a 4-2 record while striking out 19 and posting a 2.33 ERA.

Luis Mila - Miami, FL (American Heritage High School) INF, 6-0, 155
Had a batting average of .360 while tallying 22 RBI.

Lynn Lewis - Greenville, AL (Lawson State Community College) INF, 6-1, 185
Had a batting average of .365 and 21 RBI.
