La New Bears Edge Sinon Bulls In Taiwan

TAIWAN - Chung-Wei Pan had three RBIs and the La New Bears beat the Sinon Bulls, 8-6, on Tusday night in Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) action.

Pan went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and three RBIs while Long-Yi Huang also cracked two doubles and Chien-Wei Tsai had a 3-for-5 effort at the plate.

Sinon infielder Chang Tai-shan, who was recently suspended from international competitions for one year by the IBAF for failing a drug test, joined teammate Chih-Wei Chen as the only Bulls with two hits in the game.

Chih-Wei Chen (1-3) scattered three runs and six hits over five innings to claim the win while Wen-Ping Yu (6-3) yielded six runs on nine hits in 4 1/3 innings to suffer the loss.

T-Rex Stops Elephants

Nathan Bland tossed five shutout innings to lead dmedia T-Rex past the Brother Elephants 4-2 on Tuesday night.

dmedia third baseman Wei Kao went 3-for-4 with an RBI while both Chuan-Chia Wang and Hao-Jan Huang collected two hits apiece.
The Elephants Chia-Chia smacked his sixth homer and was 2-for-3 at the plate.

Bland allowed only four hits but was pinned with a no-decision. Chih-Chung Yen (1-0) worked 2 2/3 innings to earn his first win of the season while Dan Core (6-3) was tagged with the setback after giving up three runs and five hits in seven innings on the mound.
