IRELAND - The Spartans topped the Hurricanes 7-3 this past Saturday at Corkahg Park to remain the front-runners in the Irish Baseball League.
The Spartans (10-1), who are fighting the Black Sox for the league’s top spot, will play the Mariners this coming weekend before colliding with the Indios on September 7.
The Black Sox (10-4) blanked the hapless North Stars 7-0 at Shanganagh Parl last weekend and will butt heads against a tough Hurricanes (9-4) on Saturday.
The Mariners (6-7) swept the Indios this past Sunday but will be facing a much stiffer test on Saturday against the league-leading Spartans.
