It’s been called “sexy” by some but since the early days, home run hitters have fascinated baseball fans. All-time greats like Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, Frank Howard, Willie Mays, Dick Allen and many more delighted “lovers” of the long ball while increasing the popularity of the game.
However, the age of steroids has tarnished the image of once-popular sluggers Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa, Jose Canseco and Rafael Palmeiro unlike anything the sport has ever seen. But it has cemented the legends of the Home Run Kings of the past.
