Taiwan (0-0) vs Italy (0-0)
The Taiwanese will be looking to start their campaign with a win against an Italian squad still smarting from a disastrous European Championship which was more of a result of “bad” luck than poor performance. Taiwan appears to be a below-average offensive team with strong pitching and defense. Italy is familiar with Taiwan which bodes well. The winner will have their sights on the fourth seed in Group A while the road for the loser becomes a bit more complicated.
